1. The people from Nazareth have a hard time believing in Jesus. Why? What is the result?
2. Chapter six describes the sending out of the 12 followed by the death of John the Baptist. What does the connection of these two events show us?
3. After the apostles return from teaching and healing, what need do they have? How does Jesus seek to help with this?
4. When Jesus goes ashore and sees the crowd, how does He respond? Compare this to how He responded to the apostles.
5. Are the disciples wrong in wanting the crowds to go away once it gets late? Why does Jesus let the crowd get in the way of what He intended for His disciples?
6. What’s the danger in telling Jesus what to do instead of asking Him?
7. What good comes from Jesus telling the disciples to do something they can’t do by themselves?
